Enotice - A Gentoo Linux per-package message logger/reader

This tool requires no patches to Gentoo portage. The current enotice tool implements the following features: To install the notice reader, download and untar the enotice tarball and follow the directions in the enclosed README file. Installation must be done with root privs.

An ebuild for enotice which automates the installation is now available, thanks to MAL.

The current version of enotice is 0.2.9.1

Enotice CHANGELOG

0.2.5 - (LH) Changed references to "error" to "critical" which more
accurately reflects the nature of ebuild reporting. Added man
	  page.

0.2.6	- (LH) Fixed problem when PORT_ENOTICE_LEVEL was unset. Added
sensible defaults for both PORT_ENOTICE_SORT and
	  PORT_ENOTICE_LEVEL.

0.2.7	- (LH) Fixed error in file count when files have been purged or
deleted. Eliminated automatic program termination if the file
count at the PORT_ENOTICE_LEVEL is 0 but other notice files exist
and are hidden. Added notification of the number of "hidden"
enotices. Added delete range. Added a readline after the notice
listing to prevent the display of the command menu from pushing
the top of the last page of the listing off the screen. Added
install script and profile.bashrc to the distribution.

0.2.8	- (LH) Made install script smarter and more informative

0.2.9	- (LH) Eliminated spurious "Notice n doesn't exist" messages when
	  deleting a range of files.

0.2.9.1	- (MAL) Updated profile.bashrc to include support for the elog call,
which has replaced einfo in portage.
